The SAFMA Awards, held this year at the Protea Hotel Balalaika in Sandton on 18 February, recognise FM professionals who demonstrate a real passion for the field, and a desire to drive it to greater heights. The awards recognise the FM companies, as well as FM teams, that are moving our industry forward in SA.

2016’s awards evening saw SAFMA’s Chairman Paul M’Crystal, SAFMA Board Member André Klopper and KnowMore Managing Director Peter Townshend take to the stage, to talk about current trends in FM; the positive effect of FM on employees as well as on performance, and innovations in the use and management of business and corporate spaces.
Then it was time for the awards, including one for Excellence in FM – the SAFMA Awards’ highest accolade. It proved to be a very close decision, requiring intense deliberation by the judges. Both the winner and the runner-up displayed the best of qualities; both had been contributing significantly to the enhancement and promotion of best practice in the field of FM.
